The police will tell you when they know.
Probably not. But you can try to call company that charged your card ( phone # usually appears in your statement) and ask what address was used for shipping.
please believe that somoene is investigating it.
More importantly, call the big three credit agencies and put a FRAUD ALERT on your credit card. If they have one card number it is very easy to open other accounts.
It is probably someone you know and therefore much more dangerous…..
okay well after you do that,
on your statement (with the fraudulent charge on it)
you can call the company and ask them the information.
THere should be a transaction number on it.
get that and do a bit of detective work and you will have your answer before sundown
Usually, you would have to get the police involved. What they would do is contact your issuer law enforcement dept and they would be able to release enough info that the police can do a thorough investigation. Sometimes, the fraudster is revealed but it does take time from what I’ve understood about tracking them down. Just make sure you have gotten in contact with Equifax to put a Fraud alert (which is a victim statement) on your credit report and they will automatically get in contact with experian and transunion so the alert would show for all 3 bureaus. Equifax # is 800-525-6285. I’m sorry this has happened to you and I hope that futher damage hasn’t been done.
