credit card application
marie76444 asked:

If you apply for credit cards and you get turned down b/c of your credit score being low. How long does it take for them accounts to be removed from your credit report? AND if they are removed from your report does this bring the score higher or just the same?

  1. If you applied and were declined there is no account that ever gets on your credit report. The only thing that will show up is the inquiry. The only time an “account” would show up is if you were actually approved.

Overall inquiries only count for 10% of the total score, and usually only deduct between 3-8 points per inquiry. But the exact number depends on the rest of your credit history.

The inquiries will remain on your report for 2 years from the date of inquiry. However, after 1 year they are no longer involved in your credit score. With most of the negative effect the first 6 months.

  2. anytime you apply for a credit card your score will drop wither you get approved or not. if you close a credit card it will drop as well. your credit report goes back i think 7 years. it only hurts your credit like 5 points and it will show as an inquiry and that’s it. try getting a department store credit card to build credit they are easier to get approved for just be careful don’t get carried away
