Does Macy’s really REQUIRE their employees to apply for and have their credit card? Isn’t that illegal?

I applied for a cosmetics job today, and the interviewer said that I HAD to apply for their credit card. I haven’t even been hired yet! And even if I was hired, I don’t want a Macy’s card!
