No doc loans are why people were able to lie. I know finance people that lied for loan applicants and sometimes or maybe quite often without their knowledge.

No, never. I always went with loans that required lots of documentation. I was encouraged to not go with that and I said no, that is unacceptable to me. I was a bit appalled. I worked in finance (investments) and banking.

There has to be regulations that make sense. We need to teach financial education. It will mean that financial sales professionals will make less money as a result of a more educated population.

edit: I’m a liberal democrat. I work and pay taxes. I volunteer and donate to charity. I have my masters. I will always be continuing my education and improving myself.

I admit.. I lied for some freebies… free T shirt or free mug, or free pen they are giving out..

I also admit.. I was a liberal then.. but I changed..

I am a conversative now. I won’t fill out those application and lie for it anymore!!

No, I never have and never will. What does it prove anyway? They do check out “most” of your items on your application, and if they don’t, that’s not doing you any good because you’ll get in over your head if you haven’t been honest. That’s one of the problems with this mortgage thing…lies about income, etc. etc. etc.

I’ve never lied on a credit application. They can verify everything you include. It would be DUMB (and illegal) to lie.
