How do I prevent Norton Security from illegally debiting my credit card?

credit card services
john asked:

Some years ago I used my Nationwide Credit card to buy some Norton Security. I cancelled this service six months ago and moved to another provider and another security system. I have since been debited twice (for renewal a few weeks again plus additional stuff I for which I had never requested) by the crooks at Norton and Nationwide Credit Services (surprise, surprise) are totally useless. Has anyone had a similar experience and/or any advice?

As they have your card numbers, you will need to cancel the card and have another issued. The banks don’t mind, I’ve done it a few times.

If it was a direct debit, you can go into your internet banking and cancel the direct debit.

As for the amounts already taken, you can make a claim to your bank for a refund. It might work. It worked for me at HSBC for wrongful gym fees.

This happened to me and I complained to Norton and got my money back and they cancelled any further transactions. Have a moan- it should work! Good luck

Complain tell the card company that you have not authorised theses transactions. and ask for a new card number as you have not authorised the payment you are insured on the card for illegal withdrawals. Make sure you did not agree to updates when you first applied for Norton make sure you check first but ask for a new number saying that your security has been breeched

you may loose 2 payment they have deducted because you signed un knowing but it would stop further payments. And complain to Norton customer services that should help they are supposed to be security Bad press they dont like Regards SJ
