You cant get a credit card at that age anymore unless you have proof of income for yourself. If you do have proof of income then you should get a credit card that is 0% APR with no monthly payments.
New laws have passed that will make it impossible for anyone under 21 to get a credit card.
Even if you get a secured card, you will still have to wait till youre 21 for it to turn into a credit card.
And secured cards carry annual fees.
Get your mom to co-sign on a card for you.
Any card will do, as long as it does not charge an annual fee.
And don’t worry about APR, if you pay in full you won’t ever pay a penny interest.
The way to top 800+ scores is to pay in full each month.
Carrying balances lowers credit – and in some cases destroys lives.

My dad co-signed my first credit card (over 35 years ago) and I still have it today (under a different bank name due to mergers).
