credit card online
GreenGrass82 asked:

If I fill out all of my information to apply for a credit card online and I’m approved, does that mean that I am automatically signed up for the card? Or do I have the chance to turn down the approved credit card?

  1. Being “Approved” does not mean you are signed up for the card. It simply means you are qualified for the card in question.

So yes you can absolutely reject the card. =)

  2. You’re normally approved. However it can depend on the credit card company since many of them don’t follow the same system.

But you can turn down the credit card whenever you want. Just call their customer care/service number up–since they all have customer numbers and say you don’t want the card if it’s in your name. If they sent it out, they’ll tell you to cut the card when it arrives and they’ll send you a letter stating your account is closed. Also make sure to request a letter it’s been closed, if they don’t state they’ll send you a confirmation letter, many times they say they’ll close it and they don’t close the accounts. Always request writing to make sure.
