  1. No. Expect to pay higher interest if you can get a loan at all.

  3. The best insurance right now is a big down payment (20% or more)

  4. There is MPI (Mortgage Protection Insurance), but this is only available after the loan has been secured. This is required only if you are not at 80% loan to value.

Sounds like you make decent money but just refuse to pay creditors what you owe. Until you show some responsibility and pay your debts, nobody will loan you money unless they charge you 25 – 30% interest

  5. FHA loans are more forgiving when you have bad credit. You need to find a FHA broker and ask him if you can qualify.

  6. Yes, you can qualify for a home loan! The insurance you reference is called mortgage insurance, and that is exactly what it does for the borrower and lender.

You should talk to a mortgage professional about the next steps in the process.

    Good Luck

  7. Your best insurance is a nice down payment. PMI will be a deal breaker for you if you don’t have 20% down. You might find a lender that can get you into a mortgage, but if you need PMI, it will be very expensive.

  8. A healthy down payment with enough for closing costs and a few months expenses are a good start. You should also look into FHA loans.

  9. So you think that you’re ready to buy your own home? Hopefully you’ve done a little research online to make your first home buying experience a good one. First of all you should contact a mortgage broker that will preapprove you for your new mortgage. This is now more important than ever
