Yes it’s very safe to apply online……try searching for Visa, Mastercard, etc. or even credit cards.

As long as you are doing it at a reputable site.. no problem.
Always watch for the lock symbol on the address line.
or go directly to a bank of your choosing and ask for one of their applications.

Make sure that you are on a secure network and I would not do it on a public computer (like at a library). It is often more secure than doing it by mail. When you put the mail in your mailbox and put your little red flag up, you have just told thieves that you are mailing something. They look inside and see that there is an envelope addressed to Visa, which in an ID thefts mind is like hitting the lottery.

a qualified “NO”.
Unless – you are going through a major bank’s online site (and check them out to make sure).
There are 10′s of thousands of online “credit card” companies that appear to be legit, but are total frauds. They do great copy and paste forgeries of major banks and addresses to appear legit.

It is probably the safest way. Contrary to popular opinion, most identity theft results from theft of U.S. mail, not Internet security issues.

It really depends on where you are applying the credit card from. Make sure you check for reviews on that certain credit card provider before you apply for one online.
