Lying about age on credit card?

credit card application
half_pint122000 asked:

I lied about my age on a credit card application. i have been employed since 2005, so I do have the money to pay off any charges I would make. I turn 18 in about a month, I was wondering what the consequences would be if I lied about my age on a credit card application.

If you ever default on it (miss any payments) they can try to sue you for fraud also after your 18. My best advise for people who are between 18-22 range is NO to credit cards. Save money THEN spend it youll save a lot of money and headaches. But if you do get one NEVER miss a payment, your selling your soul.

When they run your credit it is possible they will notice that your birth date does not match what you listed. Then again, they may not. Even though you will not likely be prosecuted in this case, you should never lie on an application. It is fraud and you can get into trouble.
