Here’s the situation. I’m an American living in Japan. I’ve been here for twelve years. I’ve finally decided to get back to the U.S. but in order to rent an apartment I need a credit card. Unfortunately, I don’t have a bank account in the U.S. and all the credit card applications I’ve seen online seem to require “U.S. residency”. Is it possible for me to get an American credit card from Japan? If so, how?

I had settled my debt in full, rec’d a discharged letter from the lawyer. No, I wasn’t declared bankrupt. Credit bureu report shows no debt except my credit card applications check. Quest net still shows as pending, I had attached these letters together with my applications but still my credit card applications was rejected. Anybody can tell my why?
