    Get one with a low limit, low interest rate, and no annual fee. Getting a credit card will only help your credit if you can manage to keep your balances low or paid off. Try getting one through whoever you already bank with, for sake of convenience.

    i suggest that you dont get one. get a debit/credit card from your bank. credit cards will charge you for any little thing and you will just lose all your money.

    my advice is to avoid using credit cards if at all possible. credit cards were invented by and for the benefit of the big banks. the interest rates and late fees and every misc charge they have will turn the purchase of a $100 item into $135. some say they will just pay them off as they come in but that does not hold up in reality. people get use to spending what they make. then they get cc and start spending what they make plus what is available on their card. then they get another card to pay their bills with because their check is going to pay the cc bill. the best that could happen is you pay your bill on time. if you do that someone else will send you a cc in the mail. then another. soon you will be in a position to spend twice as much as you make. and most people do. the worst thing is that you get overloaded and can’t pay on time. either way you wreck your credit. the number one cause of people filing bankruptcy is credit card debt. i think every cc should start with the numbers 666. they are easy to get, easy to use but you have a devil of a time trying to pay it off.

    if you have credit you will get approved, go with a student card
