What is the other difference between credit card and debit card?

I have wells fargo debit card which has visa symbol.I use it at ATM .And I am using it for online payment also, but i have tried it for only one website.I also have wells fargo credit card then what is the use of credit card????
I know that using creditcard has more interest rate.But i want to know if i can use debit card for online shopping then what is the use of credit card?
I have try my best to explain my question!!! Hoping for explained answer..

    With a debit card the money is withdrawn from your checking account at the time of the purchase. You do not pay interest on it.

    With a credit card you do not pay right away and any balance carried on the card accrues interest.

    How/why did you get a credit card without understanding this?

    debit card comes out of your checking account
    credit card goes on your credit card statement and you pay later with interest
