    If you have already decided to consolidate, make sure that you do not incur debt again. Personal Finance Success is 80% behavior and 20% math, try to pay off the consolidated loan as fast as you can, and any other consumer debt, (cars, loans, credit cards) If you need some motivation, you can read the book financial freedom or total money makeover by dave ramsey.

    you have already been bankrupt and now have more credit? and you need to consolidate because you can’t afford payments? speak to a free debt management company (Payplan or CCCS) or CAB, and learn how to budget!! consolidating rarely works, by the time the loan comes through, it’s never enough because interest has accrued on your current credit cards, loans etc, and that opening APR is always lower than the one they actually offer you because you have a bad credit rating. Deal with what you currently have, learn from your mistakes and live within your means.
