The magic of outsourcing. They are cheaper, so who cares that they can’t do the job? Next they’ll be hiring elephants to wash dishes in restaurants. Hey, they’re CHEAP!
Because they do not live in the United States. They usually come from Philippines, India and the like. Call Centers are booming industries in the Asia and westeners believe that those people are most fit for the job since they are the most english-speaking non-american country in Asia. They even have to go thru a so-called Am-speak course where they have to learn how to speak in american accent.
It’s not because they don’t know how to speak English. It’s because they’re accent is different from yours that’s why you’re having difficulty in understanding them.
It’s true that they might not live in the US. Companies are outsourcing. Labor is cheaper in other countries.
It’s outsourcing. Most customer service reps are not from the Unites States, (e.g. Me) LOL.
Hey, I don’t sell credit cards. I used to sell resort vacation packages in Fort Lauderdale in FLORIDA.
And offers hotel paackages in Atlantic City.
We have to pretend that as if we also live there and we must know every street corner and stores in that particular place. I feel like I’ve been in FL before. LOL
And yes, rob_hawkins80 is correct, we even have to go thru an Am-speak course for a few weeks so as to make us “speak like you do”. Labor cost here in Philippines is much lower than in the United States so companies there tend to outsource to an Asian country where people are most likely english-speaking.
Gosh, you have no idea how degrading it is to be shouted at the phone with obscene and profane words and you are not even allowed to talk back (fight back). LOL
Fact is , that the white person is becoming a minority in our own country. Foreingers are the only people willing to do those sort of jobs, right here is the US. Our own people are lazy and unwilling because the government gives them free money ,in the forms of ‘assistance’, so that they dont have to work.Its sadBut true.

The company doesn’t care.They cut the price, and sell you cheap. They cut the price and outsource the customer service to assist you.
Its a vicious circle
