Why do I need to register credit card details to send free Blue Mountain E-card ?

credit card services

I assumed the site was similar to Hallmark – you register simply as a User.

Is Blue Mountain not free? It is offering 1 month free trial to use e-card service, and must register credit card details?!

There’s no reason for them to have your credit card details – there are heaps of online card sites, I’d just use someone else.

Do not ever give out credit card details to anyone or any site that you are not sure of.

Use another site for e cards.

Blue mountain require your payment details as should you fail to cancel your free month membership they need a guarantee that they can bill your account instantly at the end of the trial.

Further information can be found at

From the Blue Mountain website -

BlueMountain.com accepts the following methods of payment:

    1. Credit card
    2. Bank issued debit card from Visa, MasterCard
    3. PayPal
    4. An electronic check process, called ECHECK, that allows us to accept checking information from any US bank.

If you are unable to purchase a membership using one of the accepted forms of payment, you may want to consider sharing a membership with someone else who does have a credit card, debit card, PayPal or checking account.

Every paid member is given two additional FREE memberships (subaccounts) to be given to family or friends. The subaccount members enjoy all of the features and benefits of membership free of charge!

Also most companies want you to give your cc number so they can charge you once your free trial is expired and they dont want everyone just to keep creating free trials so they make you put a cc number in.

It is because you will be automatically be signed up for the free trial that turns into a billed account after 30 days until you cancel! You can find that information on the web site if you look hard enough but they obviously don’t want it to jump out at you.

If you want to send the free card, you can sign up but be sure that you know how to cancel and that you do it in time.

The trial is free, but you have to remember to cancel it or you get charged at the start of month 2 on the card details you supplied. A lot of sites need card details to get “free” things. Even Itunes wants your card to download a free track from a Coke promo.
    Not B****Y likely!
Try Yahoo greetings for your occasional card
