Why is a credit card application asking for my drivers license number?

Sorry- I mis-typed. I meant to say that this bank does NOT check credit. So guess it has to be to verify identity. I mean how much information can they get from your drivers license number?

    Yes it’s to verify identity and pull your credit score. Pretty much every credit card company will do this.

    It is not “strange” at all. That’s routine identity info for any credit application.
